SPRINGFIELD, MO. – Following a disappointing 2-0 loss to Elite Girls Academy on Sunday, May 19, the FC Wichita Women hope to find themselves in the win column as they travel to Springfield to take on SFG Lady Demize on Thursday, May 30.
The FC Wichita Women are still searching for their first goal of the 2019 season, as the offensive power of Brookelynn Entz and Dorra Gallo returns this year.
As for SFG Lady Demize, they find themselves on the bottom of the table in the Heartland after being shutout back-to-back times by St. Louis Lions and Elite Girls Academy. SFG Lady Demize also searches for their first goal of the season.
For Wichita to come out on top, the key is to put pressure on Demize goalkeeper Kaitlin Knetzke to rattle her. In their most recent game, she allowed a goal under two minutes into the game.
Following Thursday night’s game in Springfield, the FC Wichita Women head to Illinois to take on St. Louis Lions and Fire & Ice WPSL on Saturday and Sunday. These games will conclude the current four-game road trip.
Forward Katie McClure rejoins the team for Thursday night’s game in Springfield. McClure has been a crucial part of the FC Wichita offense in their first two seasons.
FC Wichita returns home on June 8 against the Demize in a double header. The FC Wichita women’s club kicks off at 4 p.m., with the men starting at 7:30 p.m. at Stryker Stadium.
