FC Wichita dominated the FC Dallas U-23’s in a 2-0 win on a beautiful Saturday at the Stryker Soccer Complex. Wichita remains in fourth place on goal differential with FC Dallas U-23.

The game got off to an exciting start as Wichita controlled the pace and game, producing multiple chances in the first ten minutes. With the chances produced and Wichita showing their dominance at full strength, it was only a matter of time before a ball would find the back of the net.

In her second game playing for Wichita, Brooklyn Entz would make no mistake and off a beautiful ball from the midfield; she would find her first brace to make it 1-0 in the 31st minute.

“Brooklyn [Entz] is very intelligent,” Assistant coach Aaron Avila said. “Simple directions and putting her in 1-v- 1 situations, that’s what fits her personality. I’m glad it really worked out for us today.”

It would not take long for Entz to find another brace for Wichita and it would come in the 37th minute. Entz would get another 1v1 with a defender and this time cut back to take a curling shot back post, which ricocheted off the post to hit an FC Dallas defender and bounce in.

“I got lucky and got the own goal,” Entz said.

With a commanding 2-0 lead in under 40 minutes, Wichita continued to pour on the pressure and didn’t relent until the whistle for halftime sounded.

Coming out of halftime Wichita was renewed and threatened multiple times, but could not find the back of the net for the remainder of the game.

“It’s great to see us come out and get this result after losing 4-0 last week in Dallas. “  Avila said.

Wichita has another game tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. against FC Tulsa Spirit at Stryker Soccer Complex. Tulsa currently sits in the last place with one point and a negative-41 goal differential.

“We’re going to have players suited tomorrow who didn’t play today, and they’re going to be hungry to get on the pitch and get a goal and a result.” Coach Avila said.

Wichita is on a two-game winning streak after a 6-0 win over FC Tulsa Spirit on Sunday. Wichita moves to third after this result.

The game was soggy and slow in the beginning as rain drizzled down on the players in the first ten minutes of the match. As the match progressed, Wichita would dominate the pace and possession creating numerous chances at goal.

It wouldn’t be until Page Achey in the 42th minute would break the level score, and find the back of the net. Achey would locate the ball on her foot and slot it past the keeper after multiple missed chances before.

Shortly after Achey’s goal, Brooklyn Entz would find her name on the scoresheet in the first minute of stoppage time. As the referee blew for halftime, the score would read 2-0 in favor of Wichita.

“I just like to come in and have fun,” Entz said.

Coming out of halftime the game would get off to a goal scoring frenzy with Entz striking again in the 51st minute, then again in the 53rd minute, and again in the 73rd minute to complete a four-goal day. Entz has scored six goals in the past 2 matches.

In the late moments of the game, it’d be Jazmin Hartshorn in the 85th minute with a one-touch strike off a free kick to make it 6-0.

Wichita travels to Oklahoma City FC on Saturday, and kickoff is scheduled 7:00 p.m. in Norman.
