Preview

18 days following their last game, the FC Wichita Women finally return to the pitch for quite possibly the biggest game this season. FC Wichita (4-2-0) travel to Oklahoma City for the first of two neutral site games against FC Dallas (7-0-1).

FC Dallas is hot right now, still undefeated this season. Their only draw came against Fortuna Tulsa, a 1-1 contest. FC Dallas’ most recent contest was on Sunday June 24, a 6-0 win over Oklahoma City FC. Dallas only has two games left on their schedule, both against FC Wichita.

Unlike FC Dallas, FC Wichita still has four games to play, two against FC Dallas, one against the Little Rock Rangers, and the season finale at home against Fortuna Tulsa. FC Wichita has not played a game in a while, and that may show Thursday night. Their most recent game resulted in a 2-0 loss to Fortuna Tulsa.

Peyton Vincze and Dora Gallo have stood up as offensive leaders recently, accounting for most of the Wichita goals and shots in the past few games. Tanna Benefiel has controlled the ball well in the midfield, setting up many offensive opportunities. FC Wichita has the security blanket feel of Jami Reichenberger in goal, praised by her coaches as one of the best in the league.

Thursday night’s contest is set to start at 7 p.m. at South Lakes Soccer Club in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The women return to action on Saturday June 30, when they travel to Little Rock, Arkansas to take on the Little Rock Rangers. The women return home next week, July 7 to take on Fortuna Tulsa to end the season. You can purchase tickets here.

PLayers to Watch FOr

FC Dallas: Halee Sowinski

Halee has scored three goals and assisted on another. Her leadership has helped the explosive offense of FC Dallas this season, who have a +29 goal differential.

FC Wichita: Jami Reichenberger

FC Wichita needs Reichenberger to be a big presence in goal. If she can find another clean sheet in this game, FC Wichita will be in a decent position to fight for the conference title.
